XRP Breaks Past February Resistance Zone Amid Rising Derivatives Activity
XRP (XRP) has broken through its February resistance zone after four failed attempts earlier this year. The token closed above $1.544 on September 22, marking a significant milestone for the cryptocurrency.
The latest price surge is accompanied by rising derivatives activity and whale accumulation. Binance Open Interest reached $600 million, while whales accumulated about $2.2 billion of XRP in just four days.
This buildup of leverage and concentrated whale activity could amplify volatility if the market becomes overheated. According to analyst Darkfost, CryptoQuant data shows that XRP Open Interest on Binance is at its highest level since January, well above the 180-day moving average of $445 million.
