XRP Gains Regulated Retail Traction in Hong Kong via OSL Listing
Ripple's XRP has gained major traction in Hong Kong after OSL, a publicly listed exchange, launched retail trading on July 29, 2026. The move marks a significant milestone for the asset as it becomes available to everyday investors through a licensed platform.
OSL, which holds Type 1 and Type 7 SFC licenses, plus AMLO registration, has made XRP accessible in one of Asia's deepest financial centers. This expands beyond the December 2025 professional-investor listing, where OSL HK restricted XRP to institutional and high-net-worth clients.
The introduction of a fiat on-ramp via the HKD pair is particularly noteworthy, as it allows Hong Kong residents to buy XRP without relying on offshore platforms. This move demonstrates Asia's commitment to building regulated infrastructure for XRP, amidst ongoing discussions in the U.S. regarding the CLARITY Act.
As the XRPL itself continues to grow, with tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) reaching over $4 billion and Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD seeing a 45% supply expansion in Q1 2026, the fundamentals picture for XRP is looking strong. The asset's utility is on the rise as its RWA market cap hits $2.25B, alongside sustained institutional appetite.
