XRP Holds Near $1.50 Ahead of Evernorth Listing and Ledger Upgrades
XRP is trading near $1.50 as two key events approach: the Nasdaq debut of Evernorth under the ticker XRPN and upgrades to the XRP Ledger. The expected listing on October 8 and the potential activation of two ledger amendments, PermissionDelegationV1_1 and BatchV1_1, on October 8-9 have not yet sparked significant price movement.
Evernorth’s listing follows shareholder approval of its merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II, with trading set to begin on October 8. The company will hold 473 million XRP and receive $300 million in cash. However, the listing provides exposure to Evernorth shares, not direct XRP ownership, leaving uncertainty about whether it will drive demand for the token itself.
The XRP Ledger upgrades aim to enhance functionality, with PermissionDelegationV1_1 enabling delegated permissions and BatchV1_1 supporting grouped transactions. While these upgrades could attract institutional interest, they do not guarantee increased XRP demand.
Current positioning shows cautious behavior, with Binance’s XRP open interest at $516.6 million, far below peaks seen in late 2025. Technical resistance remains around $1.55, with a breakout potentially targeting $1.63. Without confirmation, $1.45 remains a key downside level.
