XRP Ledger Poised for Major Upgrades Amid Growing Corporate Interest
The XRP Ledger is on the cusp of significant upgrades that will enable major commercial use cases. According to Vet, community lead at the XRPL Foundation, two key amendments - Batch and Permission Delegation - have reached the final stage of validator voting. With just 11 days remaining before activation on mainnet, these features promise to address long-standing barriers preventing large financial institutions from safely using XRPL.
The upgrades aim directly at the corporate sector by addressing strict banking security requirements. The XLS-56 feature eliminates the risk of funds becoming stuck in a commercial settlement if one party fails to meet its obligations. Meanwhile, XLS-75 allows organizations to distribute operational roles flexibly.
Two automation tools are central to the upgrade: atomic batches and permission delegation. Atomic batches allow multiple operations to be combined into a single batch that executes on an 'all or nothing' basis. Permission delegation enables organizations to delegate account permissions to third-party services or departments without revealing the primary private key.
