XRP Ledger Sees Unprecedented Surge in New Account Creation
The XRP Ledger has seen an unexpected surge in new account creation, according to data from XRPScan. In September, 11,432 new accounts were activated, a figure more than four times higher than the average of around 2,700 over the past 30 days.
The 24-hour increase displayed on XRPScan's dashboard is 245.1%, with the absolute figure being about 323% higher than the 30-day baseline. This significant spike in new accounts has raised questions about its cause, which could be attributed to various factors such as exchange infrastructure, wallet migrations, or speculative activity.
The sudden surge coincides with notable fluctuations in the price of XRP. While it's unclear whether this increase will continue or return to normal levels, experts will be watching closely for any signs of a sustained trend.
