$XRP Ledger Upgrade Nears Reality After Community Security Review

The XRP Ledger is getting ready for its next major upgrade, version 3.3.0, which includes five new features that have undergone a community-driven security review.

RippleX Head of Product Jazzi Cooper revealed the upcoming release, which includes Confidential MPTs, Batch, Permission Delegation, Sponsored Fees and Reserves, and Dynamic MPT.

The new features aim to improve transaction execution, delegated authority, market structure, token privacy, fee sponsorship, and reserve logic. The $XRP community participated in adversarial testing of the five core feature areas, which revealed 2 Critical, 6 High, 29 Medium, and 59 Low issues.

The community's efforts were rewarded with $309,000 in $RLUSD unlocked, and there were valid findings in every one of the five core feature areas. The upcoming version 3.3.0 is set to unlock key amendments for the network, following a hot fix release on August 1 that addressed a manifest flood observed on July 31.

Ripple engaged Sherlock, a Web3 security firm, to bring competitive external review to the five upcoming areas of XRPL functionality before they are activated.
