XRP Ledger's Batch Upgrade Delayed by at Least 10 Days

The XRP Ledger's Batch upgrade has been delayed by at least 10 days after validator support briefly fell below the required threshold. The feature, which allows users to submit up to eight transactions together, including all-or-nothing exchanges that could enable simultaneous payment and delivery of tokenized assets, was expected to activate on September 29.

The delay is due to a brief loss of support from more than 80% of trusted validators, which wiped out the accumulated time. However, the corrected upgrade, formally named BatchV1_1, regained support from 30 of 35 trusted validators on September 25 and started a fresh two-week countdown.

According to the XRPL amendment dashboard, the earliest activation date for Batch is now October 9 around 14:46 UTC if support holds. The feature had been counting down since September 15 and is already a second attempt at introducing it after developers withdrew the original version over a critical signature-checking flaw.

A separate upgrade that lets account owners delegate specific tasks, called PermissionDelegationV1_1, also lost its qualifying support on September 23 but regained it a day later. Its earliest activation date is now October 8 around 21:25 UTC.
