XRP Needs 143% Rally to Recover from Crash
XRP has been trading at around $1.50 as of September 30, 2026, which is 58.9% lower than its July 2025 peak of $3.65. To reach that level again, XRP would need to increase by 143%. The recent 46.9% price surge over the past 90 days has given investors hope for a recovery, but it's still down 46.8% over the past year and 17.1% in 2026.
The only complete cycle of XRP's price transitioning from a record high to a crash and back to a new high took around seven and a half years, heavily influenced by the SEC lawsuit against Ripple. The last completed crash cycle began after XRP hit its record high in January 2018 and didn't recover until July 2025.
Ripple's monthly escrow releases of 37.1 billion XRP create constant selling pressure that buyers must absorb before any sustained price recovery can take hold. Additionally, the market conditions that led to this cycle have changed significantly since then.
