XRP Price Decline Masks Ripple Ecosystem Growth
XRP's price decline has been significant, down roughly 25% from its August high. However, a closer look at Ripple's ecosystem reveals several developments that may be overlooked in the current market focus on XRP's price performance.
Dark Defender, an XRP community analyst, pointed out that exchange balances of XRP have fallen to a seven-year low near 1.7 billion tokens. This decline in reserves can impact supply and potentially create stronger price movements if demand rises while readily tradable supply is limited.
Another key development mentioned by Dark Defender is the presence of Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), with approximately 88% of its liquidity currently residing on XRPL. This could indicate a growing ecosystem and more users for the ledger, but it does not necessarily translate to direct demand for XRP.
The analyst also highlighted a roadmap for quantum-resistant cryptography on XRPL, targeting implementation by 2028. While this development is crucial for long-term network security, its impact on XRP's near-term market value remains uncertain.
