XRP Price Drops Sharply as Senate Blocks CLARITY Act
The price of XRP fell sharply over the past 24 hours, declining by 7.71% and dropping below $1.30. This decline was steeper than that of several other major cryptocurrencies, including Solana, which fell by 3.91%.
The Senate's failure to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act) is thought to be a contributing factor in XRP's decline. The bill aimed to create a wider regulatory framework for digital assets in the United States and provide clarity on the status of individual cryptocurrencies.
XRP already has significant legal clarity, having been determined by a federal court not to be a security. However, investors may have anticipated that comprehensive U.S. crypto legislation would improve the regulatory environment for digital assets and make it easier for institutions to participate in the market.
