XRP Whale Wallets Hit Record High Amid Surge in Exchange Outflows
Wallets holding between 10 million and 100 million XRP have added 1.6 billion tokens in just two weeks, pushing their combined balance to an all-time high of 13.93 billion XRP, according to blockchain analysis by finance analyst Levi. This accumulation coincides with a sharp rise in large transfers leaving major exchanges, particularly Binance and Coinbase.
On September 30, transfers of at least 1 million XRP accounted for 60.8% of all XRP outflows on Binance and 48.7% on Coinbase. Levi highlighted this as a significant development, noting that major holders typically act with strategic intent. 'Smart money doesn't make these moves for no reason,' he said, expressing optimism about the trend.
However, not all observers agree. Erik J. Layton cautioned against interpreting the current outflows as a genuine supply shock, pointing out that substantial amounts of XRP remain available on exchanges. 'That may be true but still miles away from any supply shock. Much may have left the exchanges but much remains!' Layton said, offering a counterbalance to Levi's analysis.
The contrasting views underscore a broader debate within the XRP community about the implications of recent movements. While Levi's analysis suggests potential strategic positioning by large holders, Layton's remarks remind traders that exchange balances, though reduced, are far from depleted. The key question for investors remains whether sustained outflows will continue and how this might impact XRP's price dynamics.
