XRPL Infrastructure Stable After Recent Network Incidents
XRPL infrastructure has been stable since recent network incidents, according to David Schwartz.
Schwartz, former CTO of Ripple and primary architect of the XRP Ledger, shared an XRPL update on September 10. He reported two small incidents at his XRPL hub over the past two days, where peer counts dropped and things got laggy.
The XRPL network experienced an attack on July 30, which led to a flood of fake validator manifests. This overwhelmed the peer-to-peer network, knocking out connections across the network and leaving some nodes cut off from most of their peers within minutes.
An emergency patch was rolled out to put limits on how validator manifests spread throughout the network. The underlying ledger neither halted nor forked during the incident, and no funds or private keys were lost.
