XRPN Surges, XRP Drops Amid Evernorth Listing
A recent tweet by crypto commentator Nate (@natebridges51) highlighted a striking disconnect in the market. The stock tied to Evernorth's XRP treasury, XRPN, surged 68.25% on the day he posted and is up 272.6% from last week. Meanwhile, XRP itself dropped 2.67% to $1.46, with $4 billion in 24-hour volume. Nate's reaction was simple: 'make it make sense.'
Evernorth Holdings, a digital asset treasury company built around XRP, went public through a merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II, a SPAC. On September 30, Armada shareholders voted to approve the business combination, and the announcement came on October 1. Trading under the ticker XRPN on Nasdaq is expected to begin October 8.
Evernorth holds approximately 473 million XRP, making it the largest publicly traded XRP treasury company. Its backers include Ripple, Arrington Capital, SBI Group, Pantera Capital, Kraken, and GSR. The transaction raised over $1 billion in total.
The goal of Evernorth is to grow XRP per share over time through active management, including lending, liquidity provision, and on-chain ecosystem participation. This gives institutional investors regulated access to XRP without holding the token directly, potentially supporting the asset's price.
