XRP's Soaring Price Hides a Larger Supply Concern
XRP has experienced significant price growth in August, increasing by 33% over the month. This surge is partly attributed to the prospect of favorable new regulations on the crypto market, with a bill currently heading for a Senate vote potentially benefiting XRP.
However, Alex Carchidi remains skeptical about the fundamental value of XRP, citing its expanding supply as a major concern. Despite the network generating $48,168 in transaction fees in Q2, these fees are burned and do not benefit holders directly.
Carchidi also points out that the circulating supply is increasing over time, with approximately 272 million XRP entering circulation each month in the first half of 2026. This could potentially outweigh any growth in fee revenue, making it unlikely for XRP to become more valuable.
