Yield Guild Games Shifts Focus to Sector-Agnostic Infrastructure with YGG 3.0 Launch
Yield Guild Games has announced the launch of YGG 3.0, marking a significant shift in its focus from Web3 gaming to a sector-agnostic infrastructure layer.
The move comes after the company's publishing arm, YGG Play, was shut down in July and 35 jobs were cut, with Lifetime revenue for YGG Play totaling $9 million.
YGG 3.0 is centered around the Guild Protocol, which provides a platform for communities to organize human effort, skill, and capital across the digital economy.
The company reports having 105 Onchain Guilds, 11 regional guild partners, and over 100 partner projects across various sectors, including AI, games, chains, and infrastructure.
