Zcash Price Soars Amid Suspicious Social Buzz and Protocol Vote
Zcash's recent price surge has left investors wondering if the rally is genuine or just noise. According to Santiment, the social volume for ZEC spiked by a whopping 6.8 times on X alone, but most of this buzz wasn't organic.
In fact, X posts increased 6.8 times their usual pace, while other platforms barely moved at all. This led to X's share of all ZEC chatter increasing from 59% to 85% in a single day. However, many of these posts had a similar cadence, suggesting they may have been manufactured.
Despite the suspicious activity on social media, Zcash's price did rally due to a major protocol vote and Grayscale's privacy thesis. A recent vote among coinholders saw a 98.9% majority in favor of keeping Bitcoin-style halvings, faster blocks, and killing off the legacy Sprout pool.
The only dissenting opinion came over when miner fee-recycling should kick in, with coinholders choosing February 2031 and advisory panels advocating for an ASAP implementation.
