Zcash Price Volatility Driven by ETF Demand and Altcoin Rotation
Zcash's recent price volatility is largely due to a combination of factors, including ETF demand, altcoin rotation, and new liquidity flows. The ZEC token has seen a significant increase in value over the past year, with its price rising by approximately 2,800%. This growth has made it an attractive option for institutional investors, with Grayscale's Zcash ETF announcing a 3-for-1 forward share split to make the product more accessible.
The ETF's assets under management have climbed to around $914 million since its launch, with only two net outflow days. This influx of capital has contributed to the token's price appreciation, which has seen it gain over 200% from June levels and over 8,000% from its all-time low.
Altcoin rotation is also playing a significant role in ZEC's recent price action. The token has gained nearly 33% over the week, making it one of the strongest large caps in a basket that includes NEAR, ARB, ENA, AVAX, UNI, and INJ.
Additionally, new liquidity channels like NEAR Intents are amplifying short-term price reactions to flows. The token's exchange-traded volume has reached around $5.95 billion, a 3-month high, while its open interest on Hyperliquid is approaching all-time high territory, supported by ongoing inflows into the ZEC spot ETF.
