Zcash Soars Past $1,400 as Grayscale's ETF Injects Institutional Capital
Zcash has seen an incredible surge in value, rising to over $1,400 after a nearly two-year period of stagnation. This jump can be attributed in part to Grayscale's ETF, which offers institutional investors a way to buy into the privacy-focused cryptocurrency without directly holding it.
Since its conversion to a spot ETF on August 25, the fund has grown from $304 million to over $414 million in assets under management, with a roughly 36% increase in just four weeks. This growth comes despite charging a 2.50% management fee, which some might consider steep.
The timing of Grayscale's ETF launch is notable, as it coincided with the closure of a nearly two-year SEC investigation into the Zcash Foundation without any enforcement action. This regulatory clearance has paved the way for institutional investors to enter the market.
