ZetaChain Abandons L1 Blockchain, Migrates to Solana for Private AI Focus
ZetaChain is shutting down its L1 blockchain and migrating to Solana. The community approved Proposal 68, which will convert ZETA tokens into a native Solana SPL token on a 1:1 basis, retaining the 'ZETA' ticker symbol and total supply of 2.1 billion.
The migration is necessary for ZetaChain to build private AI applications, as running its own L1 no longer enables it to do so. Solana provides the technology stack needed for agent-scale operations with sub-second settlement. Anuma, a private AI application launched by ZetaChain in February, will also be moved to Solana.
After the proposal passed, ZETA surged over 40% in a single day on September 21 and is currently trading near $0.05. The community vote had a 58% participation rate, exceeding the 40% quorum threshold, with 99.4% of votes in favor.
ZetaChain's new focus on AI applications will bring significant benefits to Solana, including gaining users, on-chain activity, and other key metrics. Anuma currently has over 300,000 registered users, mostly using cryptocurrency products for the first time.
