The Nikkei index was flat after falling almost 4% last week, while South Korean shares eased 0.8%. The Canadian dollar dipped against its U.S. counterpart as trade tensions between the two nations escalated.
Nvidia's earnings results on Wednesday are a major focus for investors, with expectations that quarterly revenue will nearly double to $92 billion and full-year earnings guidance seen in a range of $103 billion to $105 billion.
