Asian markets declined on Friday as investors assessed the outlook for U.S. interest rates and monitored elevated oil prices and geopolitical tensions ahead of the Federal Reserve's policy decision.

Japan's 10-year government bond yield slipped below 3.1%, easing from 30-year highs and tracking a retreat in Treasury yields.
The Australian dollar was little changed near multi-month lows as the greenback extended its bull run.
