Asian Tech Stocks Rally as Oil Prices Edge Higher Amid Global Growth Optimism
The Asian tech shares rallied on Monday following a robust U.S. jobs report that was seen as positive for global growth, despite it narrowing the odds of a rise in interest rates.
Oil prices edged higher after the U.S. and Iran attacked ships in the Gulf, with Brent climbing 1.1% to reach $97.37 a barrel, while U.S. crude rose 1.2% to $92.57 a barrel.
The European Central Bank is seen as certain to lift rates to 2.75% on Thursday, and futures imply a 75% chance of another hike to 3.0% by December, which raises the stakes for a key reading of U.S. consumer prices this week.
