Atlantic Region Less Exposed to US Tariffs: Bank of Canada Governor

Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem recently addressed the economic impact of U.S. tariffs on the Atlantic region, stating that it is less exposed to these tariffs than other parts of the country.

Macklem made this comment during a speech in Halifax on Monday, noting that while places like Nova Scotia are not immune to the effects of tariffs, they are less affected compared to provinces such as Quebec.

In addition to the impact of tariffs, Macklem also highlighted the issue of inflation, stating that it is stinging more in the Atlantic region.
