Australian Dollar Strengthens Against Thai Baht Amid Rate Hike
The Australian dollar versus Thai baht (AUD/THB) exchange rate is currently trading at ฿23.471, up 0.45% for the day. The pair has maintained support above its key moving averages in recent sessions, indicating bullish momentum.
The Reserve Bank of Australia recently raised its policy rate by 0.25 percentage points to 4.6%, the highest level in 15 years. This rate hike strengthens the yield advantage for the Australian dollar against the Thai baht, attracting capital inflows to AUD assets and supporting the pair's upward movement.
Technical indicators also reinforce the bullish outlook. AUD/THB is trading above its MA-20 at ฿23.387, MA-50 at ฿23.346, and MA-200 at ฿23.137. The Ichimoku Kijun provides immediate support at ฿23.395. Momentum indicators like MACD, ADX, and RSI (currently at 63.581) suggest continued buying interest, while the Stoch RSI remains neutral.
Despite the positive technical setup, short-term volatility remains subdued. The pair is expected to trade within a range of ฿23.364 to ฿23.598 over the next 2-3 days. A breakout above this range could signal further upside, while a drop below immediate support would indicate downside risk.
