Bank of England Expands Leeds Presence with New Office Plans

The Bank of England is expanding its presence in Leeds, with plans to open a new office at Capitol House in Bond Court by late 2028. The move will house the bank's growing headcount in the city and eventually replace its current office at Yorkshire House.

Currently, the Bank has just under 300 staff in Leeds, but it aims to increase this number to at least 500 by 2027 as part of its long-term commitment to the city. The new office will strengthen the bank's presence across the UK and help ensure that it better reflects and represents the people, businesses, and communities it serves.

Bank governor Andrew Bailey said, 'The Bank's new office in Leeds is an important milestone in our long-term commitment to the city.' He added, 'We have seen first-hand the value of the exceptional talent, expertise, and fresh perspectives that Leeds and the wider region offer.'
