Bank of England Expands Presence in Leeds with New Office

The Bank of England is expanding its presence in Leeds by opening a new office at Capitol House. This move will help accommodate its growing workforce, which currently has around 300 staff members. The bank plans to increase this number to at least 500 by 2027.

Bank Governor Andrew Bailey stated that the new office will strengthen the Bank's presence across the UK and allow it to better serve the people and businesses in the region.

This development is part of a larger overhaul of the Bank's office footprint, which includes refurbishing its London Threadneedle Street hub and reportedly closing a nearby Moorgate site.
