Bank of England Expands Presence in Leeds with New Office

The Bank of England is expanding its presence in Leeds by opening a new office at Capitol House in Bond Court. This move will help house its growing headcount in the city and eventually replace its current office at Yorkshire House.

The bank currently has around 300 staff in Leeds, but plans to expand its workforce to at least 500 by 2027. The new office is expected to be operational by late 2028.

Bank governor Andrew Bailey said the move was an 'important milestone' in the bank's long-term commitment to the city. He added that the bank has seen the value of the exceptional talent and expertise that Leeds and the wider region offer.
