BCGE Posts Record Profit with Strong Interest Business Growth
The Banque Cantonale de Genève (BCGE) has posted a record net profit of 118.6 million Swiss francs in the first half of 2026, representing a significant increase of 26.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
This marks a new high for the bank, with operating profit also rising sharply by 24.7 percent to 138.3 million francs and operating income increasing by 12.3 percent to 310.5 million francs.
The interest business has made a major comeback, contributing significantly to growth with net interest income up 10.1 percent to 181 million francs, commission business rising 11.1 percent to 85 million francs, and trading income also increasing by 11.1 percent to 23 million francs.
The bank's asset management saw a 3.7 percent growth in client assets under management, reaching 41.9 billion francs, driven by net new money and positive market developments.
