Bitcoin Defies Dollar Strength with 6% September Gain
Bitcoin defied expectations in September by posting a 6.14% gain despite a stronger US Dollar Index, which rose nearly 2% on the month to its highest level since late July.
The DXY index reached 101.61, fueled by hawkish Federal Reserve signals, but Bitcoin remained resilient and traded comfortably between $83,000 and $84,600 during this period.
Historically, September has been a challenging month for Bitcoin, with an average loss of about 2.42%, making the recent gain all the more remarkable.
The surge in Bitcoin's price can be attributed to institutional appetite, which drove the asset over 40% from its July lows of approximately $58,500 in Q3 2026.
