BOJ Rate Hike Sends Bitcoin Above $77,400
The Bank of Japan's decision to raise its key interest rate by 25 basis points to 1.25% on September 18 sent a ripple effect through global markets, with Bitcoin rising above $77,400.
The move marked the BOJ's second rate hike in around three months and was widely anticipated. The Japanese central bank said it would continue raising its policy rate if economic activity and prices develop as projected.
Despite the interest rate hike, the yen weakened following the announcement, with USD/JPY climbing from 156.20 to approximately 156.70.
