Bulgaria's Euro Entry Boosts Small Businesses, Says Entrepreneur
Bulgarian entrepreneur Valentin Radoykov has reported that his German and Italian partners have been paying him 30% more since Bulgaria joined the eurozone. This is due to the elimination of exchange-rate costs, allowing Bulgarian companies to negotiate prices on par with European competitors.
Radoykov owns the small company VAIANA EOOD and has worked in transport, logistics, and deliveries since 1992. He deliberately keeps his business small to maintain a decent standard of living while operating within the legal economy.
According to Radoykov, much of Bulgaria's economy was already operating in euros before joining the eurozone, with Western technology and investment dominating the country.
