Canada Sends Trade Mission to India Amid Ambitious Trade Goals
Canadian Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu is leading a trade mission to India this month. The delegation consists of over 300 business representatives from various sectors, including critical minerals and energy.
The goal is to explore opportunities in one of the world's fastest-growing markets. Canada aims to expand its bilateral trade with India to USD 70 billion by 2030.
According to Minister Sidhu, 'With more than Canadian dollars 30 billion in two-way trade today and a shared goal of reaching Canadian dollars 70 billion by 2030, there is significant room to grow the trade and investment relationship between our two countries.'
The next round of negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) will start in Ottawa. The agreement was launched in March with an aim to take bilateral trade to USD 50 billion by 2030.
