Central Banks Host Conference to Tackle Inflation Challenges

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and the European Central Bank are co-hosting a two-day conference titled 'Inflation: Drivers and Dynamics 2026' in Cleveland, Ohio. The event will be held on September 24-25, 2026, both in person and virtually. The conference aims to bring together top researchers from academia, central banks, and policy institutions to present research findings related to inflation.

On the first day of the conference, a session titled 'Inflation and Firm Behavior' will explore how firms form beliefs about inflation and its implications for economic decisions. Presenters include Hugo Monnery from Harvard University and Robert Minton from the Federal Reserve Board.

The second day of the conference will focus on monetary policy and inflation, with sessions chaired by Peter Karadi from the European Central Bank. One session will discuss nominal anchors and real consequences, while another will examine how monetary policy should respond to housing inflation.
