Cuban Informal Market: Dollar and Euro See Sustained Gains
The informal market in Cuba is starting off strong this Saturday, October 3, 2026. The US dollar has seen a sustained rise and continues to increase in value. As of 10:00 a.m. local time, one US dollar is quoted at 785 Cuban pesos (CUP), with a buying rate of 780 CUP and a selling rate of 789 CUP.
This represents an 11-peso increase compared to the previous day and a notable jump from its value seven days ago when it was trading at 733 pesos. Over the past week, the dollar has risen by 52 pesos, equivalent to 7.1%.
The euro is also experiencing upward pressure and has reached a new high for the month, trading at 880 CUP with a purchase price of 870 CUP and a selling price of 889 CUP.
