Pakistan Rupee Edges Higher Against Dollar Amid Global Strength
The Pakistani rupee has shown a slight improvement in the inter-bank market, appreciating by 0.01% against the US dollar on Friday.
The local currency closed at 277.07, gaining Re0.03 against the greenback.
This modest gain comes despite the global dollar strength, which is being driven by rising bond yields and inflation concerns linked to higher oil prices.
The US 10-year Treasury yield has hit a high of 5.344%, while the dollar index stands at 102.08, indicating that many currencies are under pressure.
