Dollar Index Stable Amid Oil Price Drop and US-Iran Tensions
The dollar index (DXY00) remained steady on Friday, despite oil prices plummeting by around 3%.
This decline in oil prices was a major factor in the dollar's stability, as it undercut demand for safe-haven assets. The 10-year T-note yield also fell by 1.8 basis points after reaching a new 1.5-year high earlier in the session.
The US military's potential expansion of attacks on Iran, which President Trump is considering, continued to provide support for the dollar as a safe-haven asset.
