Dollar Presses Into Key Resistance Zone Ahead of Nonfarm Payrolls
The US dollar has rallied more than 3.5% off its August lows and is now pressing into a major resistance zone, where the 2024 swing highs meet the upper edge of this year's uptrend.
Michael Boutros, Senior Market Analyst at StoneX, notes that 'momentum here is still in overbought territory' as the dollar approaches a pivotal resistance zone on the US Dollar Index chart.
A soft employment read from the upcoming nonfarm payrolls could curb expectations for the Federal Reserve's next rate move, which would impact the dollar's momentum and potential break through this key resistance level.
