Dollar Slides Against Dong as Global Currency Steadies Near Two-Month High
The US dollar has weakened against the Vietnamese dong, with Vietcombank selling the greenback at VND26,180 on Wednesday morning, a 0.11% drop from Tuesday.
This comes as the dollar steadied near its strongest level in two months globally, due to prospects of interest rate hikes and easing oil prices on hopes for a diplomatic breakthrough to end the Middle East war.
The State Bank of Vietnam lowered its reference rate by 0.02% to VND25,635, while the currency slipped 0.27% to around VND25,850 on the black market.
