Dollar Surges Against Dong Amid Global Rate-Hike Fears
The US dollar strengthened against the Vietnamese dong on Thursday morning, with Vietcombank selling the currency at VND26,200, up 0.04% from Wednesday.
The greenback's rise was part of a broader trend globally, as the dollar held near a two-month high after a strong manufacturing reading rekindled inflation fears and rate-hike bets.
A weak Treasury auction also contributed to the dollar's strength, pushing yields higher across the curve and providing fresh impetus to the US currency.
