ECB Begins Onboarding Non-Euro Area Banks for Euro Liquidity Access
The European Central Bank (ECB) has initiated the onboarding process for non-euro area central banks to participate in its Enhanced Repo Facility. This move is expected to enable these banks to access euro liquidity later this year.
The ECB stated that the new facility aims to support the smooth transmission of monetary policy and reinforce the international role of the euro. The enhanced repo facility is designed to provide a more efficient and stable source of funding for non-euro area central banks, allowing them to meet their liquidity needs.
