ECB Queries BNP Paribas Over Succession Plan for CEO Bonnafe
BNP Paribas SA has been asked by the European Central Bank (ECB) to explain its plans for a smooth management transition when it replaces long-term Chief Executive Officer Jean-Laurent Bonnafe.
The ECB's query is part of its regular annual exercise to set BNP Paribas' capital requirements, according to people familiar with the matter.
The bank has been asked to provide information on the process for filling top leadership roles, including the chairmanship currently held by Jean Lemierre, they said.
