Euro Area Inflation Soars to 3.8% Amid Energy Price Surge
Inflation in the Euro area rose to 3.8% in September 2026, up from 3.2% in August, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat.
The increase was largely driven by a sharp surge in energy prices, with energy recording an annual inflation rate of 18.8% in September compared to 14.3% in August.
This makes energy the biggest contributor among major components, according to the data provided by Eurostat.
