Euro Faces Critical Test Against Swiss Franc at 0.9489 Moving Average
The euro has been steadily rising against the Swiss franc in recent months, but it's about to face a critical test that could determine its future trajectory. According to analysts, the euro's recovery is due in part to diverging monetary policies between the European Central Bank and the Swiss National Bank.
The ECB's concerns over inflation have made euro-denominated assets more appealing than francs, which has helped lift the euro above its 100-week moving average. Now, the euro is closing in on its 200-week moving average of 0.9489, a level it rarely breaches or holds above for long.
If the euro successfully breaks through this barrier, analysts expect it to target the 2024 peak of 0.9930, with a possible stop at the 2025 high of 0.9662. However, if it fails to clear this hurdle after such a determined approach, sentiment could be dented, potentially dragging the currency down to 0.9200 or even back to its year-low of 0.8979.
