The Euro-Lek exchange rate has reached a new low, closing the week at 92.53 lekë, according to the Bank of Albania's official exchange rate.

This marks a 4.8% decline compared to the same period last year and a 4.4% fall since the start of the calendar year.

Exchange agents attribute the supply of foreign currency in the market to inflows from tourists, which is also reflected in data showing a high volume of foreign exchange transactions.

The Bank of Albania reported that the value of foreign exchange transactions reached almost 4.5 billion euros in the second quarter, a 30% increase compared to the same period last year.
