Euro Zone Inflation Hits Three-Year High Amid Rising Oil Prices
The euro zone's inflation rate hit a three-year high of 3.8% in September, surpassing economists' forecasts and prompting another potential interest rate hike from the European Central Bank.
The data, released by Eurostat on Friday, showed that prices across the region rose at their fastest pace since August 2022, driven largely by a jump in oil and gas prices linked to the Middle East conflict.
Ireland is not immune to this trend, with almost seven in ten young adults considering leaving the country due to stretched household budgets. The country's largest economies, Spain, France, Germany, and Italy, all recorded higher-than-forecast inflation rates.
