Eurozone Consumer Inflation Expectations Dip Amid Ongoing Volatility
The European Central Bank (ECB) recently conducted a survey to gauge consumer inflation expectations in the eurozone. The results show a slight decrease in forecasted inflation over the next twelve months, dropping from 3% to 2.9%. This reduction is compared to the previous month's figure.
The ECB also reported that inflation expectations for the three-year horizon fell by one-tenth of a percentage point to 2.7%, while projections for the five-year period remained stable at 2.4%.
However, despite this decrease in inflation expectations, the uncertainty surrounding these forecasts remains higher than before the outbreak of the war in the Middle East. This suggests that the environment is still volatile and unpredictable.
