Eurozone Inflation Soars Amid Energy Price Increases
Inflation rates have increased in several major economies within the eurozone during September, driven primarily by rising energy prices. This surge has put additional pressure on the European Central Bank (ECB) regarding its interest rate path.
Data for this month indicates that inflation rose to 3.4 percent year-on-year in France, 4.1 percent in Italy, and a significant 5 percent in Spain. Furthermore, there was a notable increase in five major German states, according to the Oman News Agency.
These figures come ahead of the eurozone's inflation rate announcement on Friday, with expectations suggesting a potential rise to 3.6 percent in September compared to August's 3.2 percent. Economists anticipate that the inflation peak may approach four percent as energy costs continue to escalate.
