Eurozone Services PMI Hits 10-Month High in September 2026
The S&P Global Eurozone Services PMI rose to 53.0 in September 2026, marking the strongest reading since November 2025. The increase from 51.6 in August aligns with preliminary estimates, signaling robust growth in the services sector.
New business saw a third consecutive month of growth, reaching its joint-fastest pace since November 2025. This expansion was primarily driven by domestic demand, while export sales remained unchanged. Service providers also reported their first increase in outstanding work since October 2025, indicating that workloads are outpacing capacity.
Employment levels continued to rise, though job creation slowed slightly from August. On the price front, input cost inflation accelerated to a four-month high, and output price inflation reached its fastest pace since February 2024. Despite these increases, business confidence remained positive but subdued by historical standards.
