Fed Hike Sends EUR/USD Below 1.15 as Interest Rates Rise

The Euro to US Dollar exchange rate (EUR/USD) plummeted below 1.15 after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates on Wednesday, trading near 1.1462 late in the day, down 0.65%.

This quarter-point increase took the target range to 3.75%-4.00%, with median projections indicating another hike this year followed by unchanged rates through 2027.

Currency analysts at ING forecast a recovery to 1.160 by December, but RBC expects two more Fed hikes after Wednesday's decision.
