Federal Reserve Approves Fleur Capital's Acquisition of Louisiana-Based Simmesport State Bank
The Federal Reserve Board has approved Fleur Capital's acquisition of Simmesport State Bank in Louisiana, effective October 2, 2026. The approval comes after an application by Fleur to become a bank holding company was submitted and reviewed by the Federal Reserve.
Fleur will acquire 100 percent of Simmesport Bank's capital stock in exchange for cash consideration and shares of Fleur. Simmesport Bank has approximately $198.5 million in consolidated assets and controls around $173.0 million in deposits, representing less than 1 percent of the total deposits of insured depository institutions in the US.
However, a former board member and current shareholder of Simmesport Bank raised concerns about the transaction, citing Fleur's ability to raise sufficient funds, financial risks associated with the deal, and potential negative effects on the bank's value. The commenter also alleged that Fleur had participated actively in the bank's everyday operations before regulatory approvals were received.
